Legacy 166 Literacy Program
Reading literacy is vital to reducing the effects of intergenerational poverty. Empower children in underserved communities by providing a culture of reading and solid literacy-based education. The Children's Reading and Theatre Series presents plays from leading children's theatre companies across the country to pre-kindergarten to third-grade students. Each child receives books after each performance. The intention is to spark their imaginations through the combination of reading and theatre that will enhance their literary experiences. If we succeed in building their confidence and excitement through reading, it will impact their lives by laying the cornerstone to a prosperous learning-based future, an elementary program that can have a significant impact on a young life.
